I had gone to the Bandra Fair this past week.
He sells Candles to people on the way to the Church. Five skinny candles for Rs 10. For people to burn at the Altar and pray.
He carries them in a small plastic bag in one hand, and always has a bunch of five candles ready in the other.
He will follow you around pleading you to buy them, and the moment you show the slightest hesitation to say ‘No”, he would have already thrust them into your hand.
He is amused, happy and surprised, all at the same time, when i start to click him. His other friends on the job soon gather around and some ask me to click them too . . I did. But he is the Star.
In this shot he is looking at his friends, who are joking, that he is a celebrity now …
Although he knows that to be untrue, he is still clueless about what to say and feel …The Basilica of Our Lady of the Mount, more commonly known as Mount Mary, is a Roman Catholic church in the city of Mumbai, India. The church is one of the most visited churches in the city located in the suburb of Bandra. Every September, the feast of St. Mary is celebrated on the Sunday following 8 September, the birthday of the Virgin Mary. This is a week long celebration known as the Bandra Fair and is visited by thousands of people.
